Our next installment of Brent’s Scratchy Records brings us another from E. Power Biggs. The Organ was a 1958 album about the history and design of the pipe organ with narration and playing examples by Biggs, and which included a book with writings by Albert Schweitzer, Dirk Flentrop, John McClure, and Biggs.

I really enjoyed this episode. It was very informative and easy to follow for someone new to learning about pipe organs and organ history.
I discovered this by chance while driving in my Tesla. I studied organ as a high school student in the 1960’s and took it up again last year after a nearly 60 year hiatus. I learned a few new things from this recording. Thanks for offering it.
